According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Dagupan City, Pangasinan, is predicted to endure intense heat with a maximum index of 47 degrees Celsius (°C) on Monday.

The weather forecast by Pagasa indicates that Aparri, Cagayan, could reach 46°C, the second-highest heat index. In addition to the two, the state weather bureau predicted that 34 additional locations will probably experience heat indices between 42 and 51°C, or "danger" levels. Heat exhaustion and cramps would probably result from this level, according to Pagasa, while heat stroke is likely with prolonged heat or sun exposure.

The state weather service predicts that temperatures will rise to 45°C in five locations. These are the following:

  • City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte
  • City of Tuguegarao, Cagayan
  • Isabela Echague of ISU
  • Aurora Baler
  • La Union, Bacnotan

The following six locations have a 44°C chance:

  • Sinait, Ilocos Norte
  • Casiguran, Aurora
  • Coron, Palawan San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
  • Aborlan, Palawan
  • Dumangas, Iloilo

In order to protect everyone's safety, Pagasa advised the public to spend less time outside during the intense heat. In addition, the organization advised people to stay away from tea, coffee, soda, and alcohol and to drink lots of water. It was also suggested to plan heavy-duty activities for the cooler parts of the day, use umbrellas, and dress in sleeves and hats when out in the weather.
