Are Ancient Alien Ruins on Mars Real? Researcher Says NASA Photos Reveal Proof of Lost Civilization

Are These Structures on Mars Evidence of Alien Civilization? One Researcher Thinks So

To most observers, the Martian surface is nothing more than a barren red wasteland. But to George J. Haas, a longtime researcher and founder of The Cydonia Institute, that same landscape may hold the remains of a once-advanced alien civilization.

In his recent book, The Great Architects of Mars, Haas lays out his case by analyzing numerous satellite images of Mars, many sourced from NASA missions. In these photos, he claims to have found unmistakable evidence of artificial architecture: pyramid-shaped structures, symmetrical keyhole patterns, and even a geoglyph that appears to resemble a parrot.

“These formations may be the ruins of ancient cities, massive monuments, or symbols left behind by intelligent beings,” Haas proposes.

He believes that geometry is the hallmark of intelligent design — and for over 30 years, he has studied the Martian landscape through that lens, searching for consistent patterns and unnatural shapes. With his background in fine arts, Haas asserts he can differentiate between natural formations and those that appear deliberately crafted.

“You don’t have to be a geologist to tell a rock from a sculpture,” Haas told DailyMail.com.

Still, the mainstream scientific community isn’t convinced. Psychologists and astronomers have pointed out that Haas’ interpretations may be driven by pareidolia — a common psychological phenomenon where the brain sees familiar images, such as faces or patterns, in random or unrelated visuals.

Robin Kramer, a senior psychology lecturer at the University of Lincoln, explained the phenomenon in The Conversation: “Sometimes, we see faces that aren’t really there. It’s just how our brain tries to make sense of patterns.”

Despite the controversy, Haas’ research continues to spark curiosity and debate among enthusiasts and skeptics alike. Whether his observations point to Martian history or are simply tricks of the mind, the mystery of the Red Planet remains as compelling as ever.
