Uniqlo Expands Re.Uniqlo Studio with New Embroidery Service in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and clothing circularity, Uniqlo has launched a new embroidery service at its Re.Uniqlo Studio in the Manila Flagship Store, Glorietta 5, Makati.
This milestone also marks the first anniversary of the Re.Uniqlo Studio, which initially focused on offering simple, practical repairs to extend the life of LifeWear garments.
Customizing LifeWear with a Personal Touch
With this new embroidery service, customers can now add personalized embellishments to their favorite LifeWear pieces. Uniqlo offers over 80 embroidery designs, including pets, flowers, food, and seasonal themes. Additionally, the embroidery can be used to cover up small to medium holes, ensuring garments remain wearable for longer.
To further promote sustainability, Uniqlo has partnered with Basically Borrowed, a sustainable fashion community, to host a fashion swap party. Customers can bring their old and unused LifeWear items and exchange them with other participants, contributing to a circular fashion economy.
Three Pillars of Re.Uniqlo
According to Reichelle Vergara, Uniqlo’s Head of PR and Sustainability, the Re.Uniqlo initiative is built on three main pillars:
Reuse – Uniqlo encourages customers to donate LifeWear pieces that are no longer their style or size. Donation boxes are available in all stores, and collected items are distributed to communities in need, especially during calamities.
Repair – The Re.Uniqlo Studio provides repair services for well-loved garments that experience wear and tear. Customers can get buttons replaced, holes patched, and now, embroidery customization to upcycle old pieces.
Recycle – When clothing has reached the end of its lifespan, Uniqlo ensures it is recycled into new materials. The brand has also introduced collections made from recycled fabrics, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.

The Re.Uniqlo Studio accepts both old and new LifeWear items for embroidery, including tops, bottoms, and bags. Pricing details for the service are as follows:
