New York Fashion Week to Kick Off with Major Returns from Luxury Labels

New York is set to launch its month-long Fashion Week on Thursday, with several luxury brands making a comeback to showcase their latest womenswear collections. Running from February 6-11, the event marks the beginning of the autumn-winter 2025 season, featuring major names such as Calvin Klein Collection, Christopher John Rogers, and Norma Kamali, all returning to the runway after a hiatus.

Calvin Klein, now under the creative direction of Veronica Leoni, will present its high-end collection for the first time since September 2018, when it was previously known as Calvin Klein 205W39NYC under Raf Simons. The return is generating buzz, with industry experts like Aaron Royce from The Daily Front Row noting the excitement surrounding Leoni's debut. Royce also highlighted the increasing prominence of New York-based designers such as Thom Browne, Luar, and Collina Strada.

This season, around 60 labels will present their creations at various venues across the city, a departure from the more centralized locations of previous years. Royce remarked on how diverse show locations have now become the norm.

Along with the fashion, celebrities sitting in the front rows or even walking the runway will draw attention, with social media amplifying these moments. "There's an expectation for surprises and viral moments," Royce explained, citing the growing influence of social media in fashion's accessibility.

Notable names on the schedule include Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, and LaQuan Smith, with Thom Browne closing the event. After New York, fashion enthusiasts will head to London, Milan, and Paris for more designer shows.
