A live-action adaptation of Elden Ring is officially in development, with director Alex Garland leading the project. Produced by A24 and Bandai Namco, the film aims to bring the game's rich fantasy world to the big screen.

The acclaimed fantasy action RPG Elden Ring is officially being adapted into a live-action film, with visionary director Alex Garland at the helm. The project is a collaboration between Bandai Namco Entertainment and the renowned production company A24.
Garland, known for his work on Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War, will write and direct the adaptation. His involvement suggests a cerebral and visually striking interpretation of the game's intricate world.
The film's production team includes notable figures such as George R.R. Martin, who co-created the game's lore, and Vince Gerardis, co-producer of Game of Thrones. Peter Rice and the DNA team, Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, are also attached as producers.
While specific plot details and casting choices remain under wraps, the film is expected to begin production in 2026. Fans anticipate that the adaptation will explore the rich and dark narrative of the Lands Between, staying true to the game's themes of ambition, loss, and redemption.
Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware and released in 2022, has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and received numerous Game of the Year awards. Its expansive open world and challenging gameplay have set a new standard for the genre.
The game's universe continues to expand with the upcoming release of Elden Ring: Nightreign, a multiplayer-focused spinoff scheduled for May 30, 2025.
