Butter Butler, a popular Japanese bakery known for its butter-filled desserts, has opened its first store outside Japan at Powerplant Mall in Manila. The decision was easy for Bryan Tiu, President and CEO of iFoods Inc., who also brought Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory to the Philippines. Tiu explained that the Philippines has been a top market for Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, so launching Butter Butler here made perfect sense.
Sucrey Aoyama's CEO, Ryoichi Sakamoto, and General Manager Yusuke Hase also see similarities between the Filipino tradition of pasalubong and Japan's omiyage, where travelers bring back gifts. Sakamoto highlighted that Butter Butler's premium pastries, made with high-quality ingredients like European butter, French Guérande salt, and Canadian maple syrup, are perfect for sharing with loved ones.
Every item at Butter Butler celebrates butter, with the Butter Croffle being a standout. It combines the buttery crispiness of a croissant with the fluffy softness of a waffle for a perfect flavor mix. Other treats include the Butter Financiers, soft cakes with golden-brown crusts, and Butter Galettes, crispy with a hint of saltiness. Both make great hostess gifts, packaged in special boxes.
Now open at Powerplant Mall, Butter Butler is bringing its rich, buttery pastries to Manila's desert scene. "We’re excited to introduce Butter Butler to the Philippines," says Tiu. And it's clear: butter makes everything better.
