In women's volleyball in the NCAA, San Sebastian manages to win two matches
In a match that was close throughout, San Sebastian College defeated tenacious Jose Rizal University on Saturday in the NCAA Season 99 women's volleyball at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.
As the Lady Stags won back-to-back games to record a 2-6 card, Katherine Santos finished with 22 points, and four more players scored in double figures. Already eliminated from contention are both teams.
For San Sebastian, Kristine Joy Dionisio and Juna May Gonzales each scored 13 points, while Christina Marasigan chipped in with 16 attacks and two aces.
Gorayeb also gave Gonzales, one of this season's eight rookies, high praise.
Whereas Chloi Florenci Lazarte made ten excellent receptions and twelve excellent digs, Von Dimaculangan produced seventeen superior sets.
On the other hand, JRU suffered its seventh defeat in eight games despite 14 attacks and four aces from Karyla Rafaela Jasareno.
Three blocks and twelve points from Khreiszantha Gayle Batara were complemented by ten points from Shanine Pretta, nine of which came from attacks.
Wednesday's game pitting San Sebastian against Letran and JRU's season finale against Arellano are scheduled.
