CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission Central Visayas (PRC-7) officially opened a new testing center in Cebu on Monday, February 10.

The facility, known as the Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE) and regular testing center, features 282 laptops, enabling the same number of examinees to take their tests simultaneously.

Situated on the 4th floor of GMC Plaza along MJ Cuenco Avenue near Plaza Independencia, the center aims to improve accessibility to licensure exams in the region.

The inauguration was attended by key PRC officials from both central and regional offices, including Commissioner and lawyer Erwin Enad and PRC-7 Director Narcival Taquiqui.

Currently, there are eight PRC CBLE testing centers across the country, located in NCR, Region 1, Region 4A, Region 5, Region 6, Region 7, Region 10, and Region 11.

The first batch of examinees to use the new Cebu facility will be those taking the Respiratory Therapy licensure exam on Tuesday, February 11, with all examinations scheduled to be conducted simultaneously nationwide.

For those unable to secure slots at the Cebu center, Enad stated they could take their exams at other regional testing centers or in Manila.

To ensure smooth operations, Taquiqui assured that PRC is coordinating with Visayan Electric Company to prevent power outages. In case of a blackout, the facility is equipped with backup generators.

Enad highlighted that the CBLE represents a significant advancement in the examination process, as PRC continues its transition from traditional paper-based tests to digital assessments.
