Blacklist International Bids Farewell to MPL Scene, Transfers Franchise Ownership

MANILA, Philippines – Blacklist International has officially exited the MPL scene, announcing on Tuesday that it has transferred its franchise ownership to a new organization.

In a detailed social media post, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) world champion team Blacklist International revealed their departure, sending shockwaves through the local esports community and leaving their dedicated fans, known as "Agents," heartbroken.

Blacklist International expressed, "Our Mobile Legends: Bang Bang men’s squad was a team that literally changed the game: from multiple championships, the UBE strategy, and highlight reels, to our jersey designs and viewership numbers that made us the 3rd most-watched esports team in the world. We can stand proud knowing we wrote one of the most captivating stories in MLBB history. But like all great stories, everything must come to an end."

"Though we believe in the future of the MLBB community, with a heavy heart, we bid a bittersweet farewell to the Blacklist MLBB men’s team, as the organization has decided to transfer our MPL Franchise Ownership to a new organization for MPL Season 15," the post continued.

The organization explained that the decision was made "in response to the business opportunity that was presented to us."

They also expressed their gratitude to their fans, stating their openness to "reentering the league in the future."

"To every single agent who has cheered for us, shown up to our games and watch parties, bought our merch—for all your undying support—we thank you," they continued.

Among the many accomplishments of the Blacklist squad—across various iterations—are the M3 world title, three MPL trophies, and representing Sibol MLBB at the SEA Games, where they won the gold medal in the biennial sporting event.
