Court Rejects NewJeans' Claims Against ILLIT, Blocks Group’s Exit from ADO
A court has denied NewJeans' injunction to leave ADOR, despite their claims of mockery by ILLIT members. The ruling affirms their contract with the group, but NewJeans plans to continue their legal fight.
NewJeans Faces Legal Setback as Court Upholds ADOR Contract
NewJeans’ efforts to leave ADOR have been blocked after a court ruled against their injunction, preventing them from pursuing independent projects. The ruling also dismissed allegations that ILLIT members mocked or ignored the group.
Caught in the ongoing HYBE vs. Min Hee Jin feud, NewJeans rebranded as NJZ and announced their departure from ADOR last November. Despite the court’s decision, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein vowed to continue their legal battle.
During proceedings, NewJeans alleged that three ILLIT members disrespected Hanni, with their manager even instructing them to ignore her. However, the court found no sufficient evidence, citing CCTV footage that showed ILLIT members greeting her. Hanni’s own messages confirmed the greeting, though she felt it was insincere.
Belift Lab, ILLIT’s agency, denied all allegations, calling them baseless. They previously condemned attempts to damage ILLIT’s reputation, refuting claims of plagiarism and misconduct.
Following the court ruling, NewJeans stated on Instagram that while they respect the decision, they believe it does not reflect their complete loss of trust in ADOR. Meanwhile, ADOR welcomed the verdict, reaffirming their commitment to managing the group and announcing their presence at NewJeans’ upcoming performance in Hong Kong.
