Country singer Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, and Christian artist Brandon Lake are collaborating on a new version of Lake’s song, "Hard Fought Hallelujah," set to release on February 7, 2025. Jelly Roll has expressed how deeply the original song impacted him, bringing him back to worship. The collaboration came about after Jelly Roll shared with Lake how much the song meant to him.

Jelly Roll admitted that he had become "bitter and hurt by the Church and their dogma" to the point where he created his own way of believing. He believes that music has the power to meet people where they are, and "Hard Fought Hallelujah" was exactly what he needed when he heard it.

In a recent video, Jelly Roll explained to Lake that the song touched him deeply, marking the first time in years that a record had such a profound impact on his worship. He felt that God not only wanted him to listen and worship but also to live with the song and learn and realize thing deeply with Him and from it. Lake and Jelly Roll are encouraging fans to pre-save the track.
