Keychron Q7 Review: My New Favorite Keyboard is a Stunning Metal Masterpiece

One of my favorite keyboards has always been the Keychron V1, so I was thrilled to get my hands on the Keychron Q7. This mechanical keyboard elevates the experience with its premium all-metal build, a brand-new keycap profile, and satisfying tactile feedback.

While the Q7 is fully hot-swappable, its stock Gateron G Pro switches are already highly responsive, making it a joy for both typing and gaming. After just a few days of use, it quickly became my go-to keyboard, solidifying its place among the best mechanical keyboards available.

If you’re looking to avoid plastic keyboards, the Q7 is as premium as it gets—though it comes at a steep price for a wired-only model.

The Keychron Q7 quickly became my favorite keyboard. While it’s on the heavier side, that’s not an issue since I don’t plan to move it from my desk. Its all-metal construction is a standout feature—not just for its sleek design but also for the excellent typing and gaming experience it delivers. The OSA-profile double-shot PBT keycaps provide a comfortable feel, and the bouncy feedback adds to the satisfaction. The stock Gateron G Pro switches perform exceptionally well, but if they’re not your preference, the hot-swappable design allows for easy customization.
