Currently, the most popular VR applications fully engage the user's senses, especially sight and hearing, to create an immersive experience that makes the virtual environment feel incredibly realistic.

For instance, when you climb something high and look down, you might experience a sensation of vertigo, or if an object rapidly approaches your head, you'll instinctively duck.

In the near future, VR developers plan to expand this sensory involvement to other senses, such as touch and smell, to further enhance immersion. Additionally, the devices used to access these virtual worlds will become more affordable and lighter, eliminating the current barriers.

I believe that extended reality (XR)—which includes virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR)—will be one of the most groundbreaking technological trends over the next five years. XR will be supported by advancements like ultra-fast networks, allowing us to experience VR through cloud services, much like we do with music and movies today. Artificial intelligence (AI) will also play a key role, creating more personalized virtual experiences and realistic virtual characters to interact with.
