Bestlink College Denies Viral Field Trip Claims, Calls Them ‘Fabricated

Bestlink College of the Philippines has denied reports that students were forced to walk for hours during a field trip in Hermosa, Bataan, calling the claims "fabricated."

In a statement, the school said the details shared about the incident were false and meant to damage its reputation. The college believes the misinformation was spread intentionally to harm its image.

Bestlink College is open to an independent investigation by the local government of Hermosa, Bataan, and is looking into the cause of the incident. They also expressed sympathy for the students involved.

The school emphasized that student safety and well-being have always been a top priority before, during, and after events. They apologized for the inconvenience caused to the students, their families, and the residents of Punta Belle, Hermosa.

The incident took place on January 26, when students claimed they had to walk nearly four hours along a highway after their chartered buses encountered problems. Some students compared the experience to the Bataan Death March, saying they were forced to walk while hungry, thirsty, and extremely tired.

This incident is the latest in a series of field trip controversies for Bestlink College, which was also involved in a deadly bus accident in Tanay, Rizal, in 2017.
