The DOH has warned the public to take dengue symptoms seriously as cases spike to 76,425 nationwide, a 78% increase from last year. Regions with the highest cases include Calabarzon, NCR, and Central Luzon, with most patients aged 14 and below. Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa urged immediate medical consultation for symptoms like abdominal pain, bleeding, and vomiting. The DOH promotes mosquito control efforts through the “Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, Takip” campaign to prevent further outbreaks.

The Department of Health (DOH) has urged the public to take dengue symptoms seriously as the number of cases nationwide has surged to 76,425 as of March 15, reflecting a 78% increase compared to last year.
Dengue Warning & Prevention Measures
Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa emphasized that many dengue fatalities had early warning signs such as abdominal pain, bleeding, vomiting, and weakness. He urged individuals experiencing symptoms to seek immediate medical attention at DOH hospitals or health centers, where dengue fast lanes are available.
The PhilHealth insurance program covers dengue-related treatments, which may be free at government hospitals and clinics.
Dengue Cases by Region
The highest number of cases were recorded in:

Calabarzon – 15,108 cases

National Capital Region (NCR) – 13,761 cases

Central Luzon – 12,424 cases
Most patients affected are 14 years old and below.
Government Response & Public Advisory
Dengue can cause serious complications or death if untreated, and treatment varies based on severity. In line with President Marcos' directive, the DOH continues promoting mosquito control efforts and encourages the public to eliminate stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.
The DOH’s “Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, Takip” campaign remains in effect, urging communities to:
