Frustrated Murder Case Considered Against SUV Owner in Antipolo Road Rage Incident
An SUV owner in Antipolo City faces frustrated murder and election gun ban violation charges after a road rage incident turned into a shooting, injuring four people. The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) identified the suspect as alias "Kenneth", who did not have a Comelec exemption for his firearm. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is also investigating the altercation. Meanwhile, eight Antipolo police officers received awards for swiftly arresting the suspect. PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil is considering a lifetime gun ban for individuals violating the election firearm ban, which has already led to over 1,900 arrests nationwide.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) is set to file frustrated murder and election gun ban violation charges against an SUV owner who shot and wounded four people in a road rage incident in Antipolo City.
Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas confirmed that the suspect, identified as alias "Kenneth", did not have a Comelec exemption for his firearm. The altercation, which turned violent, involved a heated argument between the suspect and multiple motorcycle riders along Marcos Highway in Sitio Calumpang, Barangay San Jose.
Among the victims, two have been discharged from the hospital, while one remains under recovery and another requires surgery.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched an investigation, issuing show cause orders to the suspect and three motorcycle riders involved. LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II urged drivers to exercise patience and responsibility on the road to prevent similar incidents.
In recognition of their swift action, eight Antipolo police officers were awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) for apprehending the suspect, who attempted to escape in his Toyota Fortuner.
PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil is also considering imposing a lifetime gun ban on individuals who violate Comelec firearm regulations during the election period, which runs from January 12 to June 11. According to the PNP's latest data, over 1,900 individuals have been arrested for gun ban violations so far.
