Senator Imee Marcos will remain in President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s senatorial slate for the midterm elections, despite her decision to maintain independence from the administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas. Campaign manager Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco confirmed that there are no plans to remove her from the lineup. While her participation in campaign rallies remains uncertain, Tiangco suggested she has not declined. MANILA, Philippines – Senator Imee Marcos will remain part of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s senatorial lineup for the upcoming midterm elections, despite her decision to distance herself from the administration slate, according to campaign manager Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco.
Tiangco reaffirmed that there are no plans to replace Imee in the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas (Alliance for the New Philippines), stressing that her inclusion is "100%" certain. While she has not openly committed to appearing at campaign rallies, Tiangco hinted at possible participation, urging the public to stay tuned.
Beyond her independence from her brother’s slate, Imee Marcos has also maintained a friendly relationship with Vice President Sara Duterte. The Marcos-Duterte alliance has been strained since 2024, following a series of public clashes that escalated into a reported death threat against President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
President Marcos and his slate are set to launch their campaign in Ilocos Norte on February 11, with the president expected to attend 21 campaign rallies throughout the election period.
