MAITLAND, Florida — Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested early Tuesday in central Florida on a misdemeanor drug charge after police discovered his car stranded on railroad tracks just minutes before a commuter train was set to pass.

According to online court records, Jordan faces charges of cocaine possession, a second-degree misdemeanor, and resisting an officer without violence, also a misdemeanor.

Officers from the Maitland Police Department found Jordan’s Lamborghini SUV stuck on the tracks in a suburb of Orlando, Florida. The vehicle’s tires had become embedded in dirt and rocks after repeatedly spinning, leaving it immobile, as detailed in the arrest report.

Authorities later learned that Jordan had fled from a traffic stop in a neighboring county before officers located his vehicle. Upon approaching him, officers detected the smell of alcohol and observed slurred speech and signs of confusion. After instructing him to exit the vehicle, they discovered a bag in his pants containing a substance that later tested positive for cocaine.

Jordan, a former University of Central Florida basketball player, declined to speak to reporters after being released Tuesday from the Orange County Jail.
