Takeru Segawa vs. Rodtang Jitmuangnon Set for Epic Showdown at ONE Championship

Takeru Segawa is set to make a highly anticipated return to Japan’s Saitama Super Arena, a venue he knows well from his K-1 days. Excited to fight once again in this legendary arena, Takeru will finally face the opponent he has long pursued—Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
Since joining ONE Championship, Takeru had his sights set on Rodtang, but injuries on both sides caused multiple delays. Their bout was initially scheduled for January 2024 at ONE 165, but after Rodtang suffered an injury, he was replaced by Superlek Kiatmoo9, who defeated Takeru after five hard-fought rounds.
Rodtang made his return to kickboxing at ONE 167, securing an impressive win over Denis Puric in a thrilling three-round match. Meanwhile, Takeru bounced back from his January loss, delivering a knockout victory against Thant Zin in September to set the stage for this long-awaited clash.
Now, on Sunday, March 23, the two striking legends will meet in the main event of ONE Championship in a five-round flyweight kickboxing super-fight, with both men looking to cement their legacies as the greatest strikers in the world.
Aside from this explosive main event, the card features 14 electrifying bouts, including:
-
Hyu Iwata making his main roster debut against Zakaria El Jamari in a flyweight kickboxing contest.
-
Nadaka Yoshinari, Japan’s top Muay Thai fighter, beginning his quest for a ONE World Title against Rak Erawan in atomweight Muay Thai.
-
Kaito Ono aiming to secure his place in the featherweight kickboxing title picture with a showdown against division standout Marat Grigorian.
With Japan’s best fighters taking on world-class competition, this weekend’s event promises non-stop action.
