Thai Chamber of Commerce Calls for 'War Room' to Address U.S. Tariffs
The Thai Chamber of Commerce has recommended the formation of a government-led task force, termed a "war room," to proactively address the challenges posed by U.S. President Donald Trump's recent tariff impositions. This initiative seeks to develop strategies to mitigate the impact of protectionist U.S. trade policies on Thailand's economy.

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump's recent imposition of tariffs on imported goods, the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has urged the Thai government to establish a "war room" to address potential economic impacts. This task force, proposed to be led by the Prime Minister and comprising both public and private sector representatives, aims to develop proactive strategies against the resurgence of protectionist policies under the Trump administration.
Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the TCC and the Board of Trade, expressed concerns about the potential shift in U.S. trade policies. He emphasized the need for stringent import controls to prevent unfair competition and advocated for increased imports from the U.S. to address trade imbalances. The TCC also highlighted the importance of analyzing the service sector's trade deficit to gain a comprehensive understanding of economic relations.
